The purpose of the MIT FSILG Task Force was to frame recommendations aimed at helping the FSILG system and the MIT administration to maximize the return on time, energy, and money expended in pursuit of mutual, high-priority goals.

In this context, the task force studied the current benefits and drawbacks of the FSILG system and the ways in which MIT interacts with the system. The task force completed its work in the fall of 2004, when the report of the task force was published.

See the charge to the panel for a more detailed explanation of the Task Force's mission.
